TopSolid 7 System Requirements

 

Hardware

TopSolid 7 requires a recent computer with a decent amount of power, so most current machines may be used. Of course, the greater the power, the easier the software is to use. TopSolid 7 will use automatically all processors available in your computer.

Minimum configuration

  • Pentium 4 Processor (TopSolid 7 is not compatible with AMD Athlon 32 bits processors only)
  • RAM 1 Gb
  • nVidia Graphic card GeForce Series 6 with 256 Mb RAM
  • 500 Mb disk space for installation

Recommended configuration

  • Core 2 Duo Processor (TopSolid 7 is not compatible with AMD Athlon 32 bits processors only)
  • RAM 2 Gb
  • nVidia Graphic card GeForce Serie 8 with 512 Mb RAM
  • 500 Mb disk space for installation

 

Operating Systems

TopSolid 7 runs on Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista and Windows 7 in 32 and 64 bits.

Graphic Card

A decent graphics card, ideally a NVidia model >= 6000 (the 8XXX models perform well). To use the realistic rendering mode, the graphic card has to be compatible with the rendering engine we use (RedWay 3D). Most of nVidia graphic cards are fully compatible.

Configuration

A usual configuration will be made of « x » TopSolid’Design Clients computers, all connected to a TopSolid’Pdm Server computer. It is strongly advised to set up TopSolid’Pdm Server on a dedicated computer, with large storage capabilities (1 Tb minimum). This machine will have to run on « Windows Server 2003 SP2 » or « Windows Server 2008 ». A database has to be installed on this machine. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition is provided with TopSolid 7 DVD in a production use (Client/Server). Microsoft SQL Compact Edition database is used for evaluation of TopSolid 7 (stand alone).
